In a new achievement added to its record of excellence, the Applied Sciences University maintained its lead as the highest-ranked Bahraini university for the sixth year in a row. It also achieved a notable academic achievement by ranking among the top 30 Arab universities according to the QS Arab Universities Classification for the year 2026, which included 300 Arab universities, including six Bahraini universities.
This progress confirms the university’s position as one of the most prominent academic edifices in the region, and an educational environment that contributes to preparing future leaders, thanks to the quality of its programs and the integration of its educational and research system.
The university ranked 17th in the Arab world in academic reputation, which strengthens Bahrain’s position as a distinguished educational destination in the region. Bahraini universities also topped the employer satisfaction index, an indication of its success in linking theoretical education with practical application and providing promising professional opportunities for its graduates.
In terms of international openness, the university continued to enhance its global presence through the increase in international students and the expansion of research cooperation networks, which reflects the diversity of its university community and its commitment to advanced academic experiences.
In this context, Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, stated that this achievement reflects the vision set by the university since its founding to be a scientific beacon at the local and regional levels, stressing that achieving this prestigious ranking came as a result of a clear vision, tireless efforts, continuous strategic planning, and continuous investment in developing the educational and research environment.
Professor Al Khaja added: “We extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support for the process of higher education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We also express our sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Council for their continued support for the university and the entire educational system. Which contributed to enabling us to achieve this honorable achievement,” indicating that the university will continue to work steadily to consolidate its position among the best universities at the regional and global levels.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees expressed his happiness to meet Dr. Rahma Bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqiyya, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, on the sidelines of the ceremony announcing the results of the QS classification of Arab universities for the year 2026.
For his part, Professor Hatem Al-Masry, President of the University, expressed his pride in this achievement, considering it a culmination of the efforts of all the university’s members, including academics, administrators and students, and stressing the university’s commitment to continuing to improve the quality of education and enhancing its regional and international reputation.
As pointed out by Dr. Mohamed Youssef Ahmed, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Community Service, noted that this distinction reflects the strength of the university’s quality system and its constant keenness to continuously improve and develop its programs in line with the requirements of the times.
This classification confirms that the University of Applied Sciences is moving steadily to be a leading model in Arab higher education, combining academic modernity and global openness, and providing an educational experience that keeps pace with the future.
