Al-Khatib arrives at Al-Ahly to participate in the club elections
Members of Al-Ahly’s General Assembly gathered around Al-Khatib upon his arrival, as he made sure to listen to a number of members before casting his vote in the elections.
The voting process in the Al-Ahly elections began at nine in the morning today, amid a heavy turnout from members of the General Assembly, and will continue until seven in the evening. The head of the judicial committee supervising the elections has the right to extend the voting process until nine in the evening according to the conduct of the electoral process, which will be suspended at the time of Friday prayers.
Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s list is at the forefront of the Al-Ahly elections in the new session 2025-2029, as only one over-age candidate ran for office, far from the current president’s list.
Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s list includes: Yassin Mansour, vice president of the club, and Khaled Murtaji, club treasurer, in addition to Muhammad Al-Jarhi and Muhammad Al-Ghazawi, along with Muhammad Al-Damati, Hazem Hilal, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, and Ahmed Hossam Awad on the over-age membership seat, while: Ibrahim Al-Amri Farouk and Ruwayda Hisham are on under-age seats, on Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s list.
Meanwhile, Hassan Tantawi is running independently for over-age council membership, outside Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s list, and he is the only candidate who continued the electoral race and refused to withdraw his candidacy papers.
