Saad Al-Shehri, the technical director of Al-Ettifaq Club, apologized to the team’s fans following the resounding defeat that Al-Ettifaq suffered against Al-Hilal by 5-0 in the match that brought them together this Saturday evening in the city of “Dammam”, within the fifth round of the Saudi Roshan League competition.
Saad Al-Shehri said in statements published by the Saudi newspaper Al-Youm: “Good luck to us and the fans. It is difficult to make mistakes against Al-Hilal, but it is a match that has ended and the season is still long and we must appear better than that.”
The technical director of Al-Ettifaq Club added: “We started the match well, but we conceded two goals, and when we tried to reduce the difference, Al-Hilal surprised us with the third goal,” explaining that “Al-Zaeem” has a distinguished group of players.
Al-Shehri explained that he worked to prepare the players before the matches and to send the balls behind Al-Hilal’s defenders, and Wijnaldum was assigned to do that, but some details had to be adhered to in order for us to benefit. He explained that his players did not succeed in narrowing the spaces for the agreement in light of the ferocity of Al-Hilal’s players.
With this result, Al Hilal Club raised its score to 11 points, in runner-up in the Saudi Roshan League table, one point ahead of Al-Nasr Club, the leader of the standings, which has a match remaining against Al-Fateh, while Al-Ettifaq’s balance stopped at 7 points in tenth place.
The official Roshen League statistics account, via the “X” platform, revealed that Al Hilal, with its recent victory, continued its superiority in its confrontations against Al-Ettifaq, since March 2018, where it reached its 13th victory during the last 15 confrontations, while achieving two draws and not suffering a loss at all.
