New British reports revealed that Prince William He resorted to a strong and unprecedented threat to force his uncle, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to leave their luxurious residence, the Royal Lodge at Windsor, by threatening to withdraw the royal titles from his two daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
Prince William threatens Prince Andrew to strip his daughters’ titles to force him to leave his royal residence
According to what was reported by RadarOnline, William, 43, used his influence within the royal family to put pressure on Andrew, after he had previously succeeded in suspending the use of his official titles as Duke of York and His Royal Highness, against the backdrop of the scandal of his association with American businessman Jeffrey Epstein.
British journalist Emily Maitlis, who conducted the famous interview with Prince Andrew in 2019 on Newsnight, stated that the Crown Prince may have recently met with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, and clearly told them that they had to persuade their father to leave the residence, otherwise their royal status would be “reconsidered.”
Maitlis said: They are currently allowed to use the title of princess, but there appears to be strong pressure on them to maintain this status.
King Charles III intervened
Reports added that King Charles III was about to visit his brother at the Royal Lodge to issue a “final ultimatum” to him, but the plan was canceled after helicopters and journalists were spotted in the area, which raised the palace’s concern about escalating media coverage.
It is noteworthy that Prince Andrew has lived in the royal residence since 2004, after obtaining a 75-year lease for only $1.3 million, but he has not paid actual rent since then, contenting himself with bearing maintenance costs on 99 acres of land.
While sources close to the family reported that Andrew is ready to leave the headquarters on the condition that he obtains an alternative home for him and his ex-wife, who is still residing with him.
He is said to want to move to Frogmore Cottage, the home that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lived in before they left royal life, while Ferguson is eyeing Adelaide Cottage, William and Kate’s current residence.
