Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, Major General Dr. Ehab Serage El-Din, Secretary-General of the Governorate, and Accountant Walid El-Shahawy, Head of the City of Banha, directed to immediately close the illegal opening to cross the railway line in the city of Benha with reinforced concrete, and prevent crossing it permanently in order to preserve the lives of citizens.
The governor’s decision came after repeated train accidents in the region, the most recent of which was the death of the young man, Muhammad Adel, after a train collided with him while he was crossing the railway line through that opening.
A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and the concerned authorities took over the investigation, while the Public Prosecution authorized the burial of the body. The people of Banha mourned the deceased in a solemn funeral, amidst a state of sadness and prayers for mercy and forgiveness for him and for patience and solace for his family.
The governor of Qalyubia explained that the decision came in response to the demands of the residents, who appealed to the executive authorities to quickly close the illegal hole that caused repeated accidents that claimed the lives of a number of citizens during the recent period.
The governor stressed that the state is keen to secure the perimeter of the railway lines and prevent any random crossing in order to preserve the safety of citizens, stressing the necessity of coordination with the transportation police to follow up on the immediate implementation of the decision.
