The Gulf University received a group of students from the Russian Federation, accompanied by Ambassador Alexei Sko Serev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, on an academic visit aimed at getting to know the educational environment at the university and exploring opportunities for academic and cultural cooperation between the two sides.
At the beginning of the visit, the delegation was briefed on a comprehensive overview of Gulf University, including its various academic programs and pioneering initiatives in the fields of innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship, in addition to its effective role in building international partnerships that enhance the quality of education and support cultural and knowledge exchange.
The delegation toured the university’s various facilities, including classrooms equipped with the latest technology, advanced scientific laboratories, a library rich in knowledge resources, and the language center.
The students also participated in a live interactive session held in the university’s television production studio, during which dialogue was exchanged about educational and cultural experiences, and ways to develop student cooperation between Russian universities and Gulf University were discussed.
His Excellency the Russian Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the level of academic development witnessed by the Gulf University, saying: “The modern educational environment provided by the university keeps pace with international standards, and contributes to building strong bridges of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation.”
For his part, the President of the Gulf University, Professor Muhannad Al-Faras, stated that “the university believes in the importance of openness to international educational experiences and building strategic partnerships that contribute to the development of the educational and research process, and provide our students with global opportunities for growth and cultural exchange.”
Al-Faras added that the Gulf University offers Russian language classes in cooperation with the Chechen University in the Russian Federation, in a step aimed at strengthening cultural communication between the Bahraini and Russian peoples, and supporting the process of academic understanding between the two sides.
The visit concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing academic cooperation between the Gulf University and educational institutions in the Russian Federation, which contributes to strengthening international partnerships and supporting the process of higher education in the two countries.
