Gomaa Abdel Hafeez, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum Governorate, said that a campaign from the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade was able to seize a bicycle loaded with 22 plastic jerry cans containing 440 liters of 80 gasoline, prepared for sale on the black market, and the bicycle and the seized items were seized.
The necessary violation was issued, and the motorcycle driver and the seized items were referred to the competent security services to complete the legal procedures.
Intensifying campaigns on markets and shops
The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum Governorate announced that it had launched a massive campaign on markets, shops, bakeries, and gas stations, to confront the greed of some merchants and confront the circulation of goods of unknown origin, smuggled, or expired. The Directorates of Health and Veterinary Medicine, the Consumer Protection Agency, and the Supply Investigation Department participated in the campaign.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Fayoum Governorate added that he stressed the intensification of campaigns on tourist bakeries to monitor prices and weights, bean and falafel restaurants, supermarkets, subsidized flour depots, and butane depots, following up on gas agencies’ distribution of butane cylinders and ensuring their commitment to selling at the official price, and gas stations, to follow up on the extent of merchants’ commitment. Prices, inventory of petrol stations, notification of licenses and records, follow-up of distribution and control of prices.
Campaigns have also been intensified on butcher shops to monitor the prices of fresh local meat, markets and grocers, and to control prices, especially in fruit and vegetable markets.
