The Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Luxor, led by Dr. Tariq Lotfy, Director of the Directorate, in coordination with Major Moataz Ibrahim, Head of Supply Investigations, launched an expanded inspection campaign on outlets selling meat and its products in the city of Luxor, within the framework of the directives of Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, to intensify campaigns to monitor markets and inspect slaughterhouses and stores selling frozen meat and poultry.

The campaign resulted in the seizure of 43 kilograms of meat unfit for human consumption, which included minced meat, pieces of veal meat, goat meat, liver, kidneys, spleen, and paneer, as the examination revealed that they had changed natural properties and emanated an unpleasant odor.
The seized items were kept inside one of the meat refrigerators, and a report on the incident was prepared in preparation for presenting it to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures.
Dr. Tariq Lotfy confirmed that the directorate continues its daily campaigns to ensure safe and sound food access to citizens, stressing that any violations affecting citizens’ health will not be tolerated, in implementation of the directives of the Luxor Governor on the necessity of tightening control over markets to arrest violators and deter anyone who tampers with the citizen’s health.
