The British police confirmed today (Thursday) the killing of three people, including the attacker, in an attack targeting a Jewish synagogue in Manchester in the northwest of the country.
The police said that the accident began with an attempt to run over it, stabbed outside the synagogue, and resulted in the injury of four people, three of them in a dangerous condition, before the security forces shot the suspect and announced his death.
She added that a large number of worshipers were inside the synagogue during the attack, noting that there is no longer a direct threat to the public, while the security deployment was strengthened in the region.
Later, the British police classified the attack as a “terrorist act”, confirming that two people were arrested in the incident, and security patrols in the country intensified in anticipation of any emergency.
For his part, the Greater Mayor of Manchester Andy Bernham expressed his belief in the end of the immediate danger, while King Charles III and Prime Minister Kiir Starmer shocked them from the attack, and presented condolences to the victims and their families.
The Prime Minister stressed that the attack on “Kibor Day” – the holiest day in the Jewish calendar – doubles its seriousness, announcing the deployment of more police forces in the vicinity of the country’s worship.
The Israeli embassy in London also condemned the attack, describing it as “heinous and sad work.”
