The International Institute for Strategic Studies announced the confirmation of the attendance of 25 key speakers in the 21st edition of the Manama Dialogue, which will start tomorrow, Friday, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Zayani.
The list includes each of the following personalities, according to the order listed on the institute’s website:
D. Johan Wadfall, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs – Germany, and Diplomatic Advisor to the Head of State, Ministry of Presidential Affairs, United Arab Emirates Dr. Anwar Gargash, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Greece, Georgios Geraptritis.
It also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs – Cyprus, Dr. Konstantinos Kompos, Chairman of the Military Committee, NATO Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, and Senior Minister of State for Defense of Singapore Zaki Mohamed, along with Deputy Supreme Commander Allied Forces Europe, Supreme Headquarters Allied Forces Europe, NATO Admiral Sir Keith Blount.
The list of participants also included the Special Representative for the Sahel Region, the European Union, João Cravinho, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, and the CEO of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Khaled Al-Issa.
The list also included the Special Representative of the Southern Neighborhood Countries, NATO, Javier Colomina, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi,
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Dr. Shayea Al-Zindani, and the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Farsin Shaheen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Libavski, as well as the Honorable Advisor for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Mohammad Towhid Hossain.
Among the participants also are the Minister of the Interior and Municipalities of Lebanon, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, the Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Pierre Krähenbühl, the Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria, the United States of America, Thomas Barrack, and the Advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron for the Middle East and North Africa, Anne-Clair Legendre.
The Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control – Pakistan, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the former Deputy Prime Minister for Strategic Partnerships and Minister of Justice of Romania, Anna Birchall, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Jonatan Vseviev, and the Secretary-General of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, Osama Mubariz, will also participate.
The Manama Dialogue begins tomorrow, Friday, with bilateral meetings between ministers and officials, then the first special session entitled “Power and Influence Without States: Regional and Transnational Challenges” will be held at 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., and immediately after it is the second special session entitled “Aid and Assistance in Conflict Interventions and Beyond,” with the reception and opening being held at 6:30 p.m., and the keynote speech and dinner at 7:30 p.m.
The next day, Saturday, November 1, 4 plenary sessions and one special session will be held from 8:30 a.m., with the first session titled “The Future of Global Security Governance,” followed by a special speech on “National Security and Energy The American Approach,” the second session titled “Securing the Gulf: Diplomacy, Economy, and Defense,” the third session titled “Energy Geopolitics: Technology, Trade, and Power,” the fourth session titled “American Policy in the Levant: A Dialogue with Ambassador Tom Barrack,” and the third special session discussing the prospects for reform. On Sunday, November 2, 3 plenary sessions will be held, the first entitled “Managing Political Transitions in the Levant,” the second entitled “Navigational Security as a Regional and Global Responsibility,” and the third entitled “Another Nuclear Age? Strategic Risks and Opportunities.” The dialogue concludes with a farewell lunch for all delegations.
