Abu Dhabi: “The Gulf”, the Trends Youth Council affirmed that enhancing awareness of modern knowledge and specialized scientific research represents one of the most important pillars of protecting youth and society from the dangers of extremism and terrorism, especially in light of the rapid changes in the digital world. This came in the context of three qualitative workshops organized by the Council on the sidelines of the Fifth annual Trends Forum on political Islam, in which university students participated, and discussed the latest challenges related to digital space and its exploitation in promoting extremism. The first workshop was titled “Terrorism and Extremism in the era of artificial intelligence”, and focused on how extremism became algorithm as much as it is ideological, by exploiting the recommendations of recommendation and departments
