The Municipal Council of the northern region unanimously agreed to the proposal submitted by the member of the Municipal Council, representative of the third district, Mohamed Saad Al-Dossary, regarding the installation of security cameras and cameras to monitor speed along Al-Janabiya Street (streets 91-92-93) to Salman City.
Al -Dossary explained that this proposal came in response to repeated complaints from the people and road visitors, stressing that Al -Janabiya Street to Salman City is witnessing a noticeable increase in speed rates, which poses a threat to road users.
He pointed out that the lack of security patrols of the General Traffic Department increases the difficulty of controlling violations, pointing out that the region witnessed many incidents as a result of abuses and cutting light signals, especially in the vicinity of Salman City.
Al -Dossary added that the installation of speed surveillance cameras would reduce traffic accidents and repeat violations, as well as enhance traffic discipline between drivers, which reflects positively on the safety of the road visitors.
He indicated that the proposal aims primarily to address the problem of repetition of accidents, ensuring effective road control, and achieving a better flow of traffic in light of urban expansion and increasing the population density witnessed in the region.
Al -Dossary stressed that this step not only aims to deter violators, but to protect lives and preserve public and private property, stressing that the council was keen to pass this proposal unanimously because of its direct impact on promoting traffic safety.
