US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was shot in Utah.
“We must all pray for Charlie Kerk, who was shot. He is a great man,” Trump said in a post on “Truth Suchs”.
The Associated Press also quoted a spokesman as saying that conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot during the Utah Valley University event.
Media reports stated that the bomber was arrested and he was not a student, noting that Kirk was speaking in front of a large crowd when he was shot.
The American newspaper “The New York Times” said that Kirk, head of the “Turning Point Usa” organization, was the most prominent right -wing youth organization in the country, which was shot in his neck while delivering a speech during an event.
She added that Kirk (born in 1993) is “one of Trump’s closest allies.”
She explained that the young man was wounded by a bullet fired by the port from the Lucy Center, a building about 200 meters from the place of the event.
Videos depicted with mobile phones, showing people running in all directions after hearing a shooting.
The motivation behind the attack has not yet been known.
