Arab and international reactions continued to the Israeli air strikes that targeted the leaders of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Qatari capital and Doha.
According to a statement issued by the Israeli army, its forces and the Shin Bet, through the Air Force, carried out a targeted attack on Hamas leaders, including the head of the movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al -Hayya.
United Nations
United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres condemned what he described as a “flagrant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty after the Israeli air strikes that targeted Hamas leaders in Doha.
“We have just received news of the Israeli attacks in Qatar, the country that played a very positive role in order to reach a ceasefire and release all hostages. This flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Guterres told reporters.
Qatar
For its part, Qatar condemned the Israeli attack, according to a statement issued by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Qatar described the Israeli attack, which targeted residential headquarters in which a number of members of the political bureau of Hamas in Doha resided in “cowardly”.
Palestine
Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al -Sheikh strongly condemned the Israeli attack that targeted the State of Qatar.
The Sheikh wrote, through the “X” platform, this attack constitutes a serious violation of international law and the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, and is a threat to security and stability in the region.
Egypt
Egypt expressed its “strong condemnation and admission to the aggressive action carried out by the Israeli occupation forces today on the sisterly State of Qatar, which targeted a meeting of Palestinian leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha, to discuss ways to reach the ceasefire agreement, in a flagrant violation of the provisions of international law, the principles of respect for the sovereignty of states, and the sanctity of their lands.”
Egypt stressed that “this attack represents a dangerous precedent and rejected development, and is a direct attack on the sovereignty of the sisterly State of Qatar, which plays a pivotal role in mediation efforts to stop the shooting in the Gaza Strip. Egypt also believes that this escalation undermines international endeavors aimed at calm, and threatens security and stability in the entire region.”
She called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards this blatant Israeli violation, and to work immediately to stop the Israeli aggression, and hold those responsible for it, so that it is not added to the usual escaping of Israel from accountability.
The UAE
The UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, condemned, in the strongest terms, “the blatant Israeli attack and cowardly that targeted the State of Qatar, stressing that this reckless attack constitutes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, a serious attack on international law and the United Nations Charter, and an irresponsible escalation that threatens security and regional and international stability.”
The international community, especially the Security Council, called for assuming its legal and moral responsibilities to deter Israel and stop these Israeli barbaric attacks, stressing that the continuation of this aggressive approach reflects a reckless behavior that will push the region towards more tension and escalation, and undermine the chances of achieving security and stability.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia condemned “in the strongest terms the brutal Israeli attack and blatant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty, confirming its full solidarity and its standing alongside Doha.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Kingdom puts “all its capabilities to support the sister Qatar in all its measures,” warning of “the dire consequences of the Israeli occupation’s assistance in its criminal encroachments and the flagrant exit on the principles of international law and all international norms.”
She called on the international community to “condemn the sinful attack and put an end to the Israeli violations that undermine the security and stability of the region.”
Jordan
In turn, the Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al -Safadi condemned in the strongest terms “the cowardly Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar and promised a clear violation of international law, and a serious threat to the security of the brotherly Qatari people and residents in Qatar, and an extension of the brutal Israeli aggression that threatens the security and stability of the region.”
Al -Safadi wrote on the “X” platform, “Our security is one, and we stand with the brothers in Qatar, and we are in solidarity with them absolutely in any steps they take against this aggression and to protect their security, stability and sovereignty.”
Iran
Iran condemned Israel’s targeting of Hamas officials in Doha, describing it as a “scandalous violation.”
“This very dangerous criminal act is a clear violation of all international rules and regulations, and a violation of Qatar’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ismail Baqi, told state television.
Türkiye
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Türkiye condemns the Israeli attack on leaders of Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha.
She added that the attack shows Israel’s adoption of “expansion policies in the region and the adoption of terrorism” is an official policy.
The ministry said in a statement that “targeting the Hamas delegation to the negotiating delegation while the ceasefire talks continue to show that Israel does not aim to achieve peace, but rather to continue the war.”
