US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that his country may be close to the conclusion of an agreement that puts an end to the war in Gaza, indicating that the proposed agreement will restore the detainees and stop the fighting permanently.
“It seems that we have obtained an agreement on Gaza. I think it is an agreement that will restore detainees, end the war, and bring peace,” Trump told reporters at the White House.
He refused to include the West Bank
In previous statements on Thursday, Trump stressed that he will not allow Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to include the occupied West Bank. He added: “I will not allow Israel to include the West Bank. This will not happen.”
Features of the American Peace Plan
According to the American media, Trump’s peace plan in Gaza includes several basic points:

A gradual withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Strip.

Netanyahu threatens the United Nations
Trump’s comments came at a time when Netanyahu made his accent during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly, stressing that Israel will continue its war against Hamas until “completing the mission.”
“They released the detainees now. If you do, you will live, and if you do not, Israel will chase you,” said Netanyahu, addressing Hamas.
A multilateral meeting with Muslim leaders
On the sidelines of the meetings of the General Assembly in New York, Trump held a multilateral meeting around Gaza with prominent Islamic countries, including Türkiye, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan. The meeting was attended by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Criticism of recognition of the Palestinian state
During his speech to the General Assembly, Trump held Hamas responsible for thwarting “logical offers” to achieve peace, and criticized the countries that recently recognized an independent Palestinian state.
“We cannot forget the seventh of October,” Trump said. “Some countries seek to recognize the unilateral Palestinian state, as if they encourage the continued conflict. This is a very big reward for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities. Whoever wants peace must be sent with a unified message: they released the detainees now.”
