Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Communities will launch the first stage of the national strategy for smart cities in Egypt.

The launch activities are attended by Eng. Sherif El -Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Manal Awad – Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, Engineer Adel Al Najjar, Governor of Giza, Stephen Gimpart – Regional Director of “Egypt – Yemen – Djibouti” at the World Bank Group, and Ambassador Andreas Paum – Ambassador of the State of Switzerland In Egypt.
Eng. Sherif El -Sherbiny stressed, in a previous statement to the Ministry, that the national strategy for green and sustainable urbanism is one of the main pillars of the state’s vision in achieving sustainable development and activating the green economy.
The minister added that the national strategic goals of activating the green construction system include: strengthening green real estate projects and turning them into one of the main sources of national income, strengthening the green financing system and urban sustainability, raising the efficiency of energy, water and resources in cities, supporting sustainable urban growth through awareness, education and governance, and building sustainable green cities capable of adapting.
