Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al -Jalahmah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, participated in the annual ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in New York, on the sidelines of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In his speech, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs expressed the appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Turkish Republic for its presidency of the current session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous hosting of the organization’s headquarters and its constant support for its work, stressing the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting fair Islamic issues, enhancing multilateral cooperation and its continuation in supporting joint Islamic initiatives and continuing active participation in the work of the organization in a way that achieves the interests of member states and enhances security And sustainable development.
Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al -Jalahmah stressed the importance of strengthening solidarity between Islamic countries and supporting efforts to achieve peace and stability, stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the introduction of humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages and detainees, calling on the international community to support the efforts of the international coalition to implement the two -state solution, in order to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy decisions.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Hatem Abdel Hamid Hatem, Head of Organizations Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
