The rates of dementia among young people in America are doubled

According to the British Daily Mail newspaper, the study, which included 4.5 million American adults, showed an increase in the percentage of adults between the ages of 18 and 39 years who reported memory and concentration problems from 5% to 10%, and the general percentage among all adults increased from 5.3% to 7.4% during the same period.

The researchers pointed out that the cognitive deterioration represents the stage between natural aging and dementia, pointing out that about 80% of people with weak awareness are developing into dementia within six years.

The study recorded noticeable variations between the groups, as racial minorities and low income showed much higher rates than others.

The percentage increased to 12.6% among low -income people, while the lowest of which has high incomes.

Experts pointed out that a long -term Corona virus is considered one of the contributing factors, as millions of Americans suffer from persistent symptoms such as brain fog, and the results also indicated that chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and strokes increase the possibility of serious cognitive problems.

“Our results show that memory and thinking problems have become more common among younger adults, which represents a major health and social challenge that may affect the productivity of individuals and health care systems in the future.”
