Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today at the government’s headquarters in the new administrative capital, Abdel Aziz Al Mulla, Executive Director of Egypt at the World Bank Group, to review joint cooperation between Egypt and the World Bank, in the presence of Dr. Rania Al -Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and Ambassador Hisham Saif Al -Din, Executive Director of the International Bank Group.
The Prime Minister meets the Executive Director of Egypt at the World Bank Group
The Prime Minister started the meeting by expressing his sincere wishes to Abdel Aziz Al -Mulla, success in his duties at the World Bank, stressing the depth of economic relations and fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the World Bank, especially in light of the project portfolio funded by the bank in Egypt, which amounted to about 6 billion dollars.
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly also emphasized that the bank is a strategic partner for Egypt in supporting development financing efforts, taking into account the current efforts made to public debt governance and preserving the inmates to it, expressing its aspiration to continue cooperation with the bank.
Dr. Rania Al -Mashat pointed out that the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation is keen on continuous coordination and cooperation with the World Bank, especially in light of the achievements and successes that Egypt has achieved within the economic reform program, and expanding the scope of cooperation and developing relations with international financing institutions, led by the World Bank, reviewing a number of areas of cooperation between the Egyptian government and the World Bank.
For his part, Abdulaziz Al -Mulla expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister for his reception, congratulating Dr. Mustafa Madbouly on the occasion of the issuance of the National Sardness for Economic Development .. Policies supporting growth and employment, stressing that it is a positive step in the right direction to put Egypt’s vision towards the economic conditions in the country and its efforts to achieve sustainable development.
The Executive Director of Egypt at the World Bank Group – during the meeting – also reviewed the efforts of the World Bank to support Egypt and the countries of the region in coordination with a number of international financing institutions, in a way that contributes to supporting the efficiency and rationalization of the activities of international financing institutions in Egypt and the countries of the region.
In this context, Abdulaziz Al -Mulla referred to the bank’s efforts to finance projects for new and renewable energy, and a number of other activities that contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals, as well as entering into partnerships with the private sector in a way that contributes to supporting development projects, stressing the World Bank’s aspiration to continue cooperation with Egypt to finance government plans in all priority areas to achieve comprehensive development.
