The Minister of Education opens the work of the Arabic Language and Islamic Education Conference at the American School

Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education, opened the work of the Arabic Language and Islamic Education Conference, which was organized by the American School in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the slogan: “Bahrain embraces the Arabic language and Islamic education: vision and renewal”, with the participation of a group of teachers and teachers of the Arabic language and Islamic education, heads of departments, educational supervisors, and a number of administrators, concerned and invitees.

In his speech during the opening session, the Minister affirmed the important and pivotal role of Arabic language and Islamic education teachers in promoting national identity and consolidating authentic values, pointing to the permanent keenness of teachers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is permanently keen to keep pace with developments in the field of education, which is evident through their creative response and their openness to successful global experiences in teaching methods and renewable education strategies, in a way that enhances the position of the Arabic language And Islamic education in the hearts of students and deepens their association with identity and values. In his speech, His Excellency the Minister touched on the synthetic and formal characteristics of the Arabic language that makes it distinguished from the rest of the languages, pointing to the efforts made by the Ministry of Education to develop the education of the Arabic language and pay attention to establishing it by teaching the reading and recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the interpretation of its texts.

The director of the American School, Mr. Dave McMaster, also delivered a speech in which he valued the efforts of the Ministry of Education in supporting the initiatives that serve teachers and students alike, noting that such activities represent an important platform for exchanging educational experiences and developing teaching strategies, in a way that achieves the interests of students and promotes their scientific level.

For her part, Dr. Nour Abu Attia, head of the Arabic Language and Culture Department at the American School, gave a speech in which he indicated that participation in this conference enriches various aspects related to the teaching of Arabic and Islamic education, through the successful experiences and practices that will be presented, as well as dialogue and training sessions that provide innovative practical solutions in this field.

The conference was launched after that through three dialogue sessions that dealt with various topics, the most prominent of which are: the challenges facing Arabic language and Islamic education teachers, and the role of educational leaders in supporting language and identity, as well as innovation in the methods of teaching these two articles, and the conference also included specialized training sessions aimed at developing teachers’ skills and enhancing their educational expertise.

This participation reflects the Ministry of Education’s keenness to support educational initiatives that rise in teaching Arabic and Islamic education, and contributes to developing teachers ’capabilities and professional competencies to provide a distinguished educational service
