The Gulf University announced the organization of the First International Conference on Sustainable Development and Innovation (ICSDI 2025), which will be held on November 16 and 17, 2025 at the Art – Kingdom of Bahrain with a hybrid system (in attendance and hypothetical), and the conference comes in conjunction with the second edition of the sustainability week (Gusw2025) to confirm the university’s commitment to support the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) As an essential part of its institutional strategy (2022-2027), and open broad horizons for cooperation between academics, experts and government and private sectors. The conference will focus on major axes that include eliminating poverty and food security, good health and well -being, good and comprehensive education, gender equality, water and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industrial innovation and a shift towards the circular economy, facing climate change and protecting environmental systems, in addition to strengthening global partnerships to support innovation.
In this context, the Gulf University opened the door for receiving research papers to participate in the conference, and the university confirmed that all accepted papers will be published in the indexed international publishing house in the Scopus database, and the best scientific papers for publishing will be chosen in Q1 scientific journals such as Sustainability, which enhances the spread of research on a global level and gives it a tangible impact in society Scientific.
On this occasion, Professor Muhannad Al -Farras, President of the Gulf University, stated, “The Gulf University is proud to launch the first international conference for sustainable development and innovation, to be a platform that brings together minds and experiences in order to discuss innovative solutions to global challenges. This initiative represents a strategic step to support scientific research and enhance Bahrain’s position as a regional center for knowledge and innovation.”
Dr. Mohamed El -Sheikhly, Chairman of the Scientific Research Council at the Gulf University, also stated, “The conference constitutes a distinguished opportunity for researchers, academics and students to present their ideas and research projects in front of prestigious international arbitration committees, and publishing their work on scientific platforms with a global influence. We call on all those interested in participating to present their research papers and benefit from this international platform that contributes to building a more sustainable future.”
In a related context, the Gulf University affirmed that the first international conference for sustainable development and innovation (ICSDI 2025) comes in line with the goals of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 that focus on sustainability, innovation and the diversification of the economy, noting that the university is working to expand its strategic partnerships with local and international academic and research institutions, including cooperation with international universities and research centers and private sector companies, with the aim of promoting The position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a regional center for knowledge, scientific research and innovation.
