His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of a two -state solution, which was held at the United Nations headquarters today, formed by a joint presidency of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the friendly French Republic, on the sidelines of the works of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly.
A number of heads of state, governments and foreign ministers from different countries of the world will participate in the conference to exchange views on settling the Palestinian issue and implementing the two -state solution, which contributes to achieving a fair and comprehensive peace in the region.
The conference started with a speech from His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, in which he announced France’s recognition of the independent Palestinian state, noting that this recognition emphasizes the dignity of the Palestinians, their history, and their rights, and does not undermine Israel’s rights or security; It is the only way for permanent peace. He said that the proposed peace plan includes a strict mechanism to end the war, start negotiations, and make the Israeli -Palestinian peace the first pillar of a new security engineering in the Middle East.
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Saudi Foreign Minister, also delivered a speech on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which he stressed that the two -state solution conference is a historical opportunity towards achieving peace.
He said that the historical position of France and the wide international support for adopting the New York Declaration on the settlement of the Palestinian issue reflects the will of the international community in fairness of the Palestinian people, pointing out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is determined to continue its partnerships with France and the countries calling for peace to put an end to the end of the Gaza war and embody the establishment of the Palestinian state.
The conference was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Jamal Faris Al -Ruwaie, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al -Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Saeed Abdel -Khaleq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow -up Sector at the Ministry.
