Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met in Tokyo today, with Mrs. Horioti Nurico, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Japanese Parliament, on the occasion of the Minister’s visit to Japan to participate in the first strategic dialogue work between the two friendly countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Japanese Parliament welcomed the Foreign Minister, noting the launching of the strategic dialogue work between the two countries, praising what links the two friendly countries with strong historical friendship that strengthened at all levels in the service of common interests, stressing the importance of enhancing joint communication and coordination to develop bilateral cooperation at all levels, including the field of political relations and parliamentary diplomacy and unifying positions at the global level towards global challenges.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the friendship and joint cooperation between the two friendly countries is going through an important stage of development and advancement, and will witness more growth with the start of the first strategic dialogue between them, stressing that joint dialogue is an important opportunity to discuss expanding the horizons of joint cooperation in the economic, commercial, investment and development fields, and areas of common concern.
During the meeting, the areas of joint cooperation, ways to enhance and advance it were reviewed to more comprehensive levels that serve mutual interests, exchange views towards regional and international developments, conditions in the Middle East, East Asia and the European continent, and efforts made internationally to end conflicts and preserve peace, security and global stability.
