Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met at the United Nations headquarters in New York today, with His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, on the sidelines of the meetings of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States were reviewed, and the diplomatic and political efforts made by the university to enhance joint Arab action, and to perpetuate the Arab position on the challenges facing Arab countries.
The developments of the current situation, regional and international efforts aimed at reaching the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, releaseing hostages and detainees, and delivering aid to the civilian population, and paying the efforts to replace a fair and comprehensive peace in the region, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al -Ruwaie, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, and Ambassador Khaled Youssef Al -Jalahham, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs.
