The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Friday, that Foreign Minister Mohamed Ishaq Dar received a phone call yesterday evening from his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel -Ati, in which he congratulated Pakistan and Saudi Arabia warmly on signing the joint strategic defense agreement.
According to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Abdel -Ati described the defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, the important station in strengthening partnership, trust and cooperation.
She pointed to the exchange of the two parties and views on regional and international developments, stressing the importance of peace, stability and economic progress.
They also found, according to the Pakistani statement, their commitment to multilateral cooperation, and expressed their aspiration for constructive dialogues at the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly this week.
A joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan
And Saudi Arabia and Pakistan announced last Wednesday the signing of the joint strategic defense agreement, as part of the two countries’ endeavor to enhance their security and achieve security and peace in the region and the world.
A joint statement of the two countries stated that the agreement aims to develop aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries, and to enhance joint deterrence against any attack, and this agreement states that any attack on any of the two countries is an attack on both.
Yesterday, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Mohamed Asif stated that his country’s nuclear program will be available to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia if necessary according to the new defense agreement between the two countries.
