Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albaris said that the countries that have recognized the State of Palestine have to work to make it a full member of the United Nations within one year from now, and called for sanctions and freezing any dealings with Israel until its war on the Gaza Strip stops.
In an interview with the media, Albaris stressed that the wave of confessions in Palestine represents a very important moment for all those involved in humanity, stressing that the killing of thousands of innocent Palestinians “represents a daily violation of international norms and humanitarian law.”
He stressed that what is required of all countries, especially European countries, is to work to achieve justice for the Palestinian people and ensure its right to establish an independent country that can live in Gaza and the West Bank, after the stability of the Middle East and all the principles that Europe advocates at stake.
He also stressed the lack of recognition of any illegal annexation of the West Bank, and said that his government imposed a full ban on the supply of weapons to Israel, and imposed commercial restrictions on illegal settlements.
Albaris called on the European Union countries to cut trade relations with Israel until it stops what it is doing in Gaza and the West Bank or preventing the entry of ministers who called for the extermination of the Palestinians and the destruction of at least the two -state solution.
The Spanish minister said that he does not know why the Palestinian people are deprived of establishing their viable state in Gaza and the West Bank and that its capital is East Jerusalem, after this matter became a wide global demand.
He explained that his country will reduce consular aid to its citizens who live in the minimum illegal settlements, calling on the European Union to take similar steps and impose a comprehensive trade embargo on Israel.
Regarding the global resilience fleet, which is currently sailing at sea to break the Israeli siege imposed on the Strip, Albaris said that the result of preventing Israel from entering food and medicine to the Palestinians, and that it has full support from 60 countries.
He stressed that this fleet is civil and peaceful and does not pose a threat to any party, and he said that Israel should not be exposed to it in any way, and that there is a consensus on the appearance of everyone who is exposed to international courts.
Albaris concluded by saying that this fleet includes Spanish citizens with full support from their government, and that it is working closely to ensure that it is not exposed to any attack by the Israelis.
