South Korean President Lee J Mongh is heading today, Monday, to New York City to participate in the work of the eighties of the United Nations General Assembly, for a five -day visit, according to National Security Adviser Wei Song Lac.
The Korean President will deliver a speech before the General Assembly on Tuesday, during which he reviews his country’s vision and policies towards the current international issues, foremost of which is the challenges related to the Korean island.
On Wednesday, Lee J Mongi is scheduled to head an open debate on artificial intelligence and its impact on international peace and security, in a precedent of its kind of a South Korean president who chairs a session in this regard within the corridors of the United Nations.
The President of Korea meets a number of world leaders
During his visit, the Korean President will meet with a number of international leaders and officials, including the Secretary -General of the United Nations, as well as bilateral meetings with the leaders of France, Italy, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic and Poland. The National Security Adviser confirmed that the president will not hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump during this visit.
On Thursday, Lee will participate in an investment summit in which a number of prominent personalities from the economic and financial sectors participate, before concluding his visit and returning to South Korea.
