Major General Dr. Hassan Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of the Interior and Director of Sohag Security, inspected a house fire site and 3 commercial stores adjacent to the Qutb Mosque near the Sohag Railway Station, in the Department of the First Sohag Department.

The director of security had received a report from the Sheriff of the First Sohag Police Department stating that a fire broke out in a house and 3 commercial stores, which resulted in a state of panic among the people.
Immediately, Major General Dr. Hassan Abdulaziz moved to the site of the fire, and directed to push the civil protection forces and fire engines to control the fire and prevent its extension to the neighboring real estate.
Five fire engines dealt with the flames and were able to extinguish them, while cooling the effects of the fire to prevent them from igniting again, and as a security cordon was imposed around the perimeter of the fire to secure the area and prevent citizens from approaching their safety.
The Health Directorate, led by Dr. Amr Dowidar, pushed 5 ambulances, and 7 injured people were suffocated, including children, to Sohag General Hospital, and their condition is stable.
Combing and examining work is currently underway to determine the causes of the fire, and to ensure the safety of neighboring real estate.
