The head of the Capital Governorate Prosecution stated that the Grand Criminal Court issued its ruling today to condemn three accused in the case of forgery of an official editor, use it and attempted fraud, and ruled that defendants are punished for ten years and accused of imprisonment for one year and a fine of two thousand dinars, and obliging the accused to pay the affected company an amount of 5001 BD Bahrain after the implementation of the punishment.
The Public Prosecution had received a report from the Al -Hara Police Station, stating that an Asian defendant submitted an insurance company to request insurance for his life in favor of his wife – the second accused – with an amount of five hundred thousand US dollars. Soon after, the company received a notification of the death of the insured, and his wife filed a civilian lawsuit by his brother – the third accused – demanding the amount of insurance, and a ruling was issued in her favor.
However, the incident raised the doubts of the officials of the insurance company, which led them to assign a private investigation company outside the Kingdom of Bahrain to verify the authenticity of the incident. It was found from the results of the investigation that the first suspect (the insured) was still alive, and that the death certificate offered was forged.
Immediately after receiving the communication, the Public Prosecution began its investigations, as it listened to the witnesses of the incident, and requested the investigations of the police that confirmed the accused of the facts of the accusation.
And based on the conclusive evidence of the investigations that the accused committed the accusations attributed to them, the Public Prosecution ordered that they be referred to the criminal trial, which issued its advanced ruling on their conviction.
In this regard, the President of the Public Prosecution affirmed that the Public Prosecution is continuing to address forgery and fraud crimes with all firmness, to protect official transactions, and to preserve the rights of individuals and public and private institutions.
