Since 2019, the Saudi Bahraini Coordination Council still represents a firm strategic partnership between the two kingdom

Al Saud, Crown Prince of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, towards broader prospects of cooperation, as the Council set long -term goals to achieve political, economic, security and social integration, and succeeded in translating it into concrete achievements that included unified positions on the international scene and advanced cooperation in cybersecurity and combating extremism.

On the economic side, the Council worked to develop trade relations and promote financial markets, quality standards and intellectual property, while culture and media have emerged through joint files for UNESCO and activities that highlight the Gulf heritage. On the social level, the Saudi Bahraini Youth Council and the development of digital media were launched as a bridge communication between the two peoples.

The Council also attached special importance to major strategic projects, led by King Hamad Bridge, Gulf Railways and Water Connect projects, and during the year 2025, extensive meetings were held that contributed to defining new priorities in culture and security, which resulted in practical steps, most notably the launch of the Saudi Bahraini investment company with a capital of 5 billion dollars, and the completion of the King Abdullah Medical City project in Bahrain, in addition to the inclusion of Bahraini products in the Saudi local value programs, Activating the security electronic linking and sharing customs data.

Not only that, but the achievements included the launch of innovative programs for digital training, entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence, so that the council in its entirety forms an advanced model for Gulf cooperation that enhances the common position of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and embodies their common ambition towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.

The Saudi Bahraini Coordination Council is one of the most prominent joint initiatives that bring together the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain. This council was launched in July 2019 as a strategic step aimed at promoting and deepening partnership between the two countries at various levels. The founding of the council came to reflect the bonds of brotherhood and common history that brings together the two kingdoms, based on the directives of the higher leaders of both His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Beders, and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. A founding framework for the council has been established in line with the two future visions of the two countries, as it seeks to achieve political, economic, security and social integration through long -term plans and strategies.

The Council is currently chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This leadership model highlights the strength of the common political will between the two countries in enhancing bilateral cooperation and developing strategic areas of common concern.

Over the past years, the Council has made tangible progress in many areas thanks to its specialized committees. He launched initiatives and developed projects covering vital sectors such as politics, security, economics, culture and media, tourism, investment, infrastructure and social development. On the level of politics, unified positions were adopted on the international scene, and the training of young diplomatic cadres from both countries, while strengthening joint efforts to combat extremism. On the security side, there was a leading cooperation in the areas of cybersecurity, facilitating travel movement and linking security systems to enhance protection and preparation.

In the economic field, the Council contributed to developing trade relations between the two countries through initiatives related to financial markets, standards of evaluation, quality and intellectual property. At the level of culture and media, joint files were registered with UNESCO and organized activities that highlight the Gulf cultural and tourism heritage. Social Development efforts included the launch of the Saudi Bahraini Youth Council and the development of digital media as a bridge that supports the relationship between the two peoples.

Among the important strategic projects on which the council focused on, the joint efforts to construct the King Hamad Bridge came and moved forward in the Gulf railway and water linking projects. Investment committees also work to enhance sustainable development and protect the environment through practical initiatives targeting future generations.

The year 2025 witnessed qualitative transformations within the work of the Council through intense meetings that contributed to defining new priorities and enhancing existing cooperation. In January, the fourth meeting of the Coordination Committee was held in the fields of culture, media and social development in Manama. The meeting highlighted the commitment of the two countries to develop cultural projects that support Gulf identity and enhance sustainable development goals. It was also discussed on future programs targeting the technical, media and tourism sectors.

In April 2025, Jeddah hosted the fourth meeting of the Security Coordination Committee, as the two parties confirmed that the security of the two countries is overlapping and homogeneous in the long run. During the meeting, the achievements were discussed such as cybersecurity and linking the main security operations room between the two countries, in addition to facilitating air travel procedures and combating extremist thought among young people. The new agreements included advanced mechanisms to deal with border challenges and ensure security integration in the face of regional and international difficulties.

Among the main results achieved by the Council is the launch of the Saudi Bahraini investment company with a financial portfolio of $ 5 billion, in addition to activating the electronic link in the field of security and the exchange of customs data between the two countries. The King Abdullah Medical City project in Bahrain and the inclusion of Bahraini products were also completed within the local value -added programs in the Saudi market, and to benefit from the experiences of the Saudi Health Specializations Authority to develop the Bahraini medical sector. Moreover, innovative programs were launched aimed at supporting digital training and entrepreneurship and developing artificial intelligence systems.

In general, the Saudi Bahraini Coordination Council reflects the common ambition to develop the relations of the two countries to deeper and sustainable levels. The Council represents an advanced model for Gulf cooperation based on effective institutional frameworks that seek to provide solutions to various current and future challenges. Thus, the Council contributes effectively to strengthening the common position.
