Representative Ahmed Sabah Al -Salloum, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, confirmed that the official visit made by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister to the Italian Republic and the Vatican Presidency formed a historic station that strengthened the Bahrain site as a bridge to communicate between civilizations, and established its position as a reliable economic partner on the international scene.
Al -Salloum said that the results of the visit carried two main dimensions, the first is the economic represented in signing a set of strategic agreements, foremost of which is the bilateral agreement to establish a joint investment portfolio of 500 million euros, which will contribute to moving the investment wheel and attracting quality capital that opens new horizons for the Bahraini private sector, and supports the diversification of the national economy in line with the goals of Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.
He added that other agreements – including cooperation in the fields of space, energy, customs, and smart cities, in addition to banking and investment partnerships between Bahraini and Italian institutions – represent a pillar to enhance trade exchange, which exceeded one billion euros, and opens the way for more joint initiatives that are in the interest of the two friendly peoples.
Al -Salloum pointed out that the visit also carried a civilized and spiritual dimension through a meeting with His Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister of the Holiness of Pope Liu XIV in the Vatican, stressing that this meeting reflects the authentic Bahraini approach to consolidating the values of tolerance and coexistence, and embodies the Kingdom’s message in supporting dialogue between religions and enhancing the culture of world peace.
At the end of his statement, he stressed that what was achieved during this historic visit represents a qualitative step that will be reflected in the various economic and social sectors, and confirms the wise vision of the leadership in making Bahrain a global center for dialogue, investment and sustainable development.
