The Arab Petroleum Exporting Organization of Petroleum “APEC” and the Arab Gulf University signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research and technical development in the energy sector, based on the keenness of the two parties to support sustainable development and build scientific and technical capabilities in member states.
The memorandum was signed by the Secretary -General of the Obik Organization, Eng. Jamal Issa Al -Logani, and President of the Arab Gulf University, Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fahid.
The memo aims to frame joint cooperation in the fields of scientific research, organize conferences, seminars and workshops, exchange experiences and information, implement specialized training programs, and provide technical consultations, with a focus on environmental issues, innovation and green technologies in the field of petroleum industry.
The areas of cooperation in preparing joint research studies and projects include in the fields of energy, environment and development, supporting innovative and distinguished initiatives through competitions and scientific and awards, and cooperation also includes the exchange of publications and scientific and technical information, cooperation in the field of executive education and graduate studies, promotion of events and activities of common concern through media channels of both parties, in addition to benefiting from digital libraries and exchanging modern knowledge resources.
Dr. Al -Fahid said during the signing: “This memorandum represents a qualitative step towards consolidating the partnership between higher education institutions and regional bodies specialized in the energy sector,” stressing that cooperation with an ancient organization as your gates will contribute to directing scientific research towards serving sustainable energy issues and environmental development in the Arab world, and will provide promising opportunities to build capabilities and exchange knowledge and experiences with a group of experts and specialists in this field Biological.
For his part, Eng. Al -Logani explained that this step reflects the keenness of Obik and the Arab Gulf University to build strategic partnerships that serve the priorities of development in the Arab countries, by employing modern knowledge and technologies to enhance the efficiency of the energy sector and preserve the environment.
