Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Monday, that the Air Force destroyed 50 residential towers in the Gaza Strip during the past two days, stressing that this is just a “introduction” to the broader military operation that the Israeli forces are preparing.
In a speech from the Air Force headquarters, Netanyahu said: “I promised a few days ago that we will eliminate terrorism. In the past two days, the Air Force dropped 50 of this kind. All this is just a prelude to the strong main operation – the land maneuver that our forces are currently organizing inside Gaza City.”
He added, adding his speech to the residents of the Strip: “I say to the residents of Gaza, listen to me well: You were warned, get out of there.”
Earlier today, the Israeli Defense Minister, Yisrael Katz, renewed his threats to Gaza City, which is under violent Israeli bombing.
He said in a tweet on his account in “X” on Monday: “Today, a hurricane will strike the sky of Gaza City, and the surfaces of terrorism towers will be shaken,” as he put it.
“Last Warning”
He also added that “this is a final warning of Hamas elements and leaders who are in Gaza and in luxury hotels abroad.” “They released the hostages and threw your weapons, otherwise Gaza will be destroyed,” he added.
He stressed that the Israeli army “continues to work according to the plan, and is preparing to expand its maneuvering to control Gaza.”
These threats came, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed his ministers not to make any statements about the military operations in Gaza, according to Israeli media.
On Sunday, Netanyahu announced that his forces “deepened” their attack in Gaza City and its surroundings, after his government approved a plan to control the major and most densely populated cities of the Strip, after 23 months of war.
“We are the maneuvering on the outskirts of Gaza City and inside the city itself,” Netanyahu said at the beginning of the cabinet meeting, according to a video published by his office.
He also added, “We are destroying the terrorist infrastructure, and disassembled the specific terrorist constellations.”
Netanyahu explained that Israel “established another humanitarian area that would allow civilians in Gaza to move to a safe area.”
Warnings … and destruction of the towers
This comes, while Gaza City has been intensifying for the Israeli bombing and military operations. Today, Sunday, the Israeli army called for the evacuation of the area surrounding the Revelation Tower in the Beirut Junction and the Arab League Street in Gaza City before it was bombed on the pretext of “the presence of infrastructure for Hamas.”
Videos documented the moment the residential tower was bombed and turned into rubble, while dust covered the place in a state of fear and dismay between the residents.
On Friday and Saturday, the Israeli forces also destroyed two other residential towers in Gaza City (Mishhi Tower and Burj Al -Sousi) after they issued an evacuation warning.
This week, the army began warnings to evacuate some of the high buildings in Gaza City, accusing Hamas using military purposes, which was denied by the Palestinian movement.
Also, on Saturday, the army called on the residents of Gaza City to evacuate and go to the “humanitarian” area declared in Al -Ma’idah (south), which he said includes a “human infrastructure” and is provided with food and medicine.
This comes as the Israeli army began a new operation, which is targeting the remaining residential towers in Gaza City as part of the “Gideon 2 vehicles” operation, which comes in a humanitarian catastrophe experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip for more than two years, which is the age of the war on Gaza.
