US President Donald Trump expressed during the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House of his confidence in reaching an agreement on the Gaza Strip.
“Upon Trump received Netanyahu at the entrance to the White House, he was asked whether an agreement would be reached to end the war in Gaza, he answered in the affirmative.”
Trump indicated that he was “very confident” regarding an agreement, according to France Press.
Netanyahu did not answer, when he was asked whether he agreed, according to CNN.
“We have a real opportunity to achieve something great in the Middle East,” Trump wrote on his network, Trump, adding, “Everyone is ready for a remarkable thing, it is a precedent. We will achieve that.”
The American president wants to “end the war and the hostages are liberated,” said his spokesperson Caroline Levitte on Monday in a media briefing.
Trump is awaiting “both sides” to accept the new plan for Washington, according to Levitte.
This is the fourth visit Netanyahu to the White House since Trump returned to power in January. It is scheduled to hold a joint press conference after that.
