The British Telegraph newspaper published a report indicating that there are internal demands from the British calling for the examination and audit of President Trump’s accusation that Muslims are not trying to impose their religion and beliefs on anyone, but Trump has a personal problem with the mayor of London, as the British newspaper described.
The US President’s speech at the United Nations has sparked widespread controversy after he criticized a number of countries, claiming that Europe is invaded by illegal foreigners, before highlighting the British capital, London.
In a controversial statement, Trump attacked the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and claimed that “London has changed a lot, and now they want to resort to Islamic law,” referring to the increasing influence of Sharia courts in Britain, and Khan replied by saying that Trump lives free of charge in the heads of some, describing it as racist, sexual biased, and hostile to Islam.
Britain stands with Muslims against Trump
In the context of the internal debate in Britain, opponents warned that attempts to pass laws similar to “blasphemy laws” under the guise of combating “hatred of Islam” may hinder the debate about the growing number of courts and legal councils in the country.
They emphasized that other religions, despite their own religious courts, do not seek to impose their laws on the broader society.
The Representative of the Reform Party, Sarah Bouchin, has asked a question this month about whether the new minister of state for justice recognizes Islamic law in the United Kingdom.
The Minister of Labor, Sarah Sakman, responded by saying: Sharia is not part of the law of England and Wales, but if individuals choose to resort to these councils – such as Jewish or Christian courts – this falls within the framework of religious tolerance, which is an important British value.
