Suez Governorate is witnessing a noticeable decrease in fish prices, in conjunction with the start of the fishing season after a four -month stoppage to develop fish wealth.
Low fish prices in Suez
The owners of the shops and fish traders raced to offer large quantities at reduced prices, with the return of the boats loaded with the good of the sea of different types.
Major General Tariq Hamed Al -Shazly, the governor of Suez, launched an initiative to reduce prices in coordination with the heads of neighborhoods and put the quantities of fish in the squares and outlets, which sparked positive reactions among citizens.
The governor stressed in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that the low prices come in light of the feeling of owners of boats and merchants in responsibility and participation with the executive bodies in providing fish at reasonable prices.
He stressed that he will encourage any merchant who is committed to offering discounted prices to achieve the desired goal, which is the availability of fish for all citizens at reasonable prices.
For his part, Mohamed Abdullah, head of the Ataka neighborhood in Suez, confirmed that large quantities of fish have been released in the neighborhood.
He pointed out that the prices of some items witnessed a noticeable decrease such as the municipal sink, which is sold for 25 pounds instead of 50 pounds, and the couscari at 40 pounds instead of 80 pounds, and the storyteller at 35 pounds instead of 60 pounds, and the blue is 65 pounds instead of 90 pounds, in addition to the municipal eloquence at 80 pounds instead of 100 pounds, and the red shrimp at 80 EGP instead of 100 pounds, while the calamari is sold at a price of only 230 pounds instead of 350 pounds.
