The activities of the “role of the central authorities in recovering assets” were launched at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of official delegations and experts from 14 countries, along with a number of specialized international organizations. Judge Abdul Rahman Murad Al -Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for the Acting International Cooperation and Legal Affairs Sector, welcomed the participants, stressing that the recovery of assets is a basic pillar in international efforts to combat corruption, money laundering and organized crime, including drug smuggling and terrorist financing. He explained that the central authorities play a pivotal role as the official authority to communicate between countries, in a manner that guarantees the effectiveness of international cooperation in this field.
