Dr. Ali Fakhr, Secretary of the Fatwa at the Egyptian Ifta House, answered a question about the rule of arts and music in Islam and how it can be used positively.

Dr. Ali Fakhr said, during televised statements today, Sunday: Of course there are arts and music, some of which are permissible and some of them are forbidden .. It is permissible that does not call for strife, fluidity or pornography, but rather enhances positive values, such as the national anthem, which tightens people’s attention and raises enthusiasm and pride in the homeland at celebrations.

Is music and arts forbidden?

He added: There is a difference between using music in a useful way and using it in a way that spoils ethics. For example, drums in wars or tambourine on marriage occasions has a specific function, as it is a media or to show joy, and not for sedition or fluidity.

Dr. Ali Fakhr, the Secretary of the Fatwa at the Egyptian Ifta House, emphasized that Islam does not contradict the various arts, but it sets clear controls, so it will be legitimate if you support the grandfather, diligence and pride in the homeland, and prohibited if it leads to sedition or pornography.
