Iran calls for its ambassadors to Britain, France and Germany to consult

Iran summoned its ambassadors to Britain, France and Germany for consultation, according to the local media, after the three countries launched a mechanism that re -imposing United Nations sanctions on Tehran.

Iranian state television said that “after the irresponsible movement of the three European countries to reactivate the canceled decisions of the UN Security Council, Iran’s ambassadors were called in Germany, France and the United Kingdom to Tehran for consultation,” Iranian state television said.

And the re -imposition of United Nations sanctions on Iran in the rule of the decided after the Security Council voted against the postponement of this step, despite the resumption of the International Atomic Energy Agency resuming inspections on Iranian nuclear sites.

In a recent endeavor, the Council voted on Friday, a draft resolution aimed at extending the 2015 agreement concluded between Iran and the major powers, 6 months until April 18, 2026. The validity of the current agreement known as the joint comprehensive work plan on October 18 ends. However, this project, which was submitted by China and Russia, was rejected by 9 members of the 15 Council and supported it only 4, while two refrained from voting.

“The United Nations sanctions aimed at the Iranian (nuclear) deployment will be re -imposed at the end of this week,” said Britain’s representative to the United Nations Barbara and Woodward.

“Unfortunately, Iran insisted on rejecting it (…) Iran has not provided any tangible and truly specific initiatives.” As a result of the vote, the Security Council proceeds to activate the “trigger mechanism” to re -impose its penalties on Tehran, after it was approved last week. The sanctions are supposed to become valid by midnight Saturday/ Sunday GMT.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji considered that the re -imposition of international sanctions on Tehran against the backdrop of its nuclear program is “lawless”. He said to the Security Council that the activation of the “trigger mechanism” is a “lawless, political, reckless, and tainted faults.” In statements to reporters, Araqji said, “Iran will never be acquired for pressure. We only respond to respect. The option is clear: escalation or diplomacy.

The Russian deputy ambassador, Dmitry Polianski, described what happened as “deception, lies and absurd play,” saying: “This is not diplomacy.” He stressed that Russia does not see any feasibility to re -impose sanctions, hinting that it will not apply it.
