Dr. Amr Talaat opened Minister of Communications Information technology is the “Egi Villa” exhibition of postage stamps and postage history, which is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the National Post Authority, organized by the Authority in cooperation with the Egyptian Stamp Amateur Association, during the period from 11 to 13 September this year at the Egypt Digital Creativity Center – Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace, in the presence of Mr. Bart de Group, Belgium’s Ambassador in Egypt, and Dalia Al -Baz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Post.

The exhibition includes rare and memorial groups of stamps that document the most prominent national and historical events in Egypt, as well as special holdings of a number of the most prominent postage amateurs, as well as workshops and educational lectures directed to the stamps collection and public public, highlighting the importance of this ancient heritage and its cultural and historical role.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, affirmed that the strategy of the National Postal Authority is based on combining originality and ancient history that extends over more than 150 years, and the continuous pursuit of a future based on technology and modernization, noting that the Egyptian Post is an ancient body that has a very important impact on the conscience of the Egyptian citizen, which calls for pride and pride in Egypt’s ancient postal history.

Dr. Amr Talaat added that the choice of the Egyptian Digital Creativity Center in Sultan Hussein Kamel’s Palace to host the exhibition with the participation of exhibitors from Egypt and the Arab countries, reflects the readiness of Egypt’s digital creativity centers to host the various technological, cultural and artistic events that enrich the cultural life in Egypt, and establish its soft power, and confirms its position as a cultural kiss for the Arab and African region; He pointed out that the exhibits included in the exhibition embody luminous stories and glorious pages of Egyptian history through postage stamps.

For her part, Dalia Al -Baz, Chairman of the Egyptian Post Board, said: “The sponsorship of the“ Egi Villa ”exhibition confirms the Egyptian Post’s keenness to spread postal culture and enhance awareness of the value of memorial stamps as an authentic part of the Egyptian heritage. He explained that the participation of the Egyptian mail in the exhibition comes with the aim of enriching the hobby of collecting stamps and enhancing awareness of the importance of the Egyptian postal heritage, and encouraging new generations to identify and engage in this high hobby, because of the educational and cultural dimensions it carries that contribute to the development of national awareness and enhancing belonging.

During the exhibition, the participants review rare holdings of stamps and correspondence that document the development of postal systems, whether maritime, air or through trains, and the role of postal institutions in the past in accelerating the arrival of messages and reducing their cost.

For his part; Hani Salam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Stamp Amateur Association, pointed out that the establishment of the exhibition under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Egyptian Post reflects the state’s keenness to support specialized cultural activities and highlight the value of the stamps, as it represents institutional support that enhances the continuity of the exhibition and provides it with the appropriate environment to appear in a form worthy of its position, pointing out that the Egyptian Post has been sponsoring this exhibition for many years, which represents a qualitative addition Wealthy, not only through its historical and memorial stamps, but with its continuous commitment to support this hobby, noting that the association seeks through the “Egi Villa” exhibition to provide an integrated knowledge experience through specialized presentations and educational workshops, in a way that enhances the hobby position at the local and regional levels, and encourages new generations to practice the hobby of collecting stamps.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian Society for Postal Stamp Amateur, which was established in 1929, is one of the most prestigious associations globally and a founding member of the European Union and the World Amateur Union (FIP), and the association is keen to organize two annual exhibitions: the first is an encouragement held in January or February, and the second is a specialist held in September under the name “Egi Villa”, which brings together the most prominent amateurs and researchers in Egyptian postal history, along with International exhibitors and Arab delegations from Algeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, to become a cultural and research event that enhances the ties between peoples and revives the historical memory of the mail.
