Within the framework of the official visit by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Bahraini -Egyptian Business Forum in Cairo was held in cooperation between the Economic Development Council, the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the General Investment Authority and Free Zones in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence of a number of senior officials, representatives of the private sector from the two brotherly countries.

Through its work, the forum highlighted the commitment of the two countries to deepen trade and economic cooperation, explore promising prospects and opportunities for investment, as well as expanding areas of trade diversification and enhancing sustainable development paths.

The forum included the participation of a number of senior government officials from both sides, who are the Minister of Sustainable Development, CEO of the Economic Development Council, Nour Al -Khalif, Minister of Industry and Trade in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullah Fakhro, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hassan Al -Khatib, Minister of Finance in the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmed Kojk, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Samir Nass, and the CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Egypt Hussam Haiba, head of the General Authority of the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal Walid Jamal Al -Din.

The Minister of Sustainable Development, CEO of the Economic Development Council, during her speech at the forum, stressed the established and growing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt, which reflects the common concern to consolidate the strategic partnership, pointing to the two countries seeking to achieve an integral agenda based on employing their components and strengths to open new horizons for cooperation in the fields of financial services, technology, logistical services, and industry. She pointed to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt by encouraging investments, harmonizing policies, and facilitating the movement of business and trade across the border.

For his part, the Minister of Industry and Trade stressed that the Bahrain-Egyptian Business Forum reflects the mutual concern and attention by the leadership of the two brotherly countries to continue to work to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand the prospects for trade and investment, pointing to the long-term partnership that links Bahrain and Egypt is based on solid foundations of constructive cooperation and common visions, in light of the mutual keenness to enhance integration between the economies of the two countries. He pointed out that the use of economic ingredients in both countries enables to open new horizons for cooperation in the areas of manufacturing, logistical services, and other strategic sectors, which contributes to advancing economic development and enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.

During his speech in this forum, the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hassan Al -Khatib, said: “Bahrain is considered one of the important investment partners of Egypt, as the balance of Bahraini investments in Egypt reached about 450 million dollars in 2024. The joint work between the two countries opens the way for unprecedented investment opportunities for sustainable growth. This forum embodies a new station in the strategic cooperation process between Egypt and Bahrain, which is not just a platform for promotion Investments, but an extension of a long path of successful cooperation. “

On the other hand, the President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed that the convening of this forum comes to reflect the depth of the historical ties that bring together the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and confirms the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to consolidate the partnership and enhance the prospects for economic cooperation, pointing out that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry confirms its willingness to provide all forms of support and facilities for investors, especially with the Arab Republic of Egypt, in a way that contributes to enhancing economic partnerships And the implementation of joint projects of added value, which is embodied through the bilateral meetings hosted by Cairo, which brought together Bahraini and Egyptian business sectors, and formed a fruitful platform to exchange visions and explore promising opportunities.

The work of the forum also witnessed bilateral meetings on its margins, which included meetings between officials in the two countries and another between representatives of companies, with the participation of members of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the aim of enhancing direct communication channels, identifying opportunities and investment projects, and stimulating partnerships in the main sectors.

It should be noted that the Arab Republic of Egypt ranked fourteenth among the largest partners in non -oil trade with the Kingdom of Bahrain during the year 2024 in terms of the volume of imports, while it ranked sixth among the largest export destinations. This reflects the durability of trade relations between the two countries, as the volume of non -oil trade exchange reached 460.5 million US dollars. Egyptian investments in Bahrain focused on professional, scientific and technical services, in addition to financing and insurance.
