For nearly twenty -five years, the Supreme Council for Women, headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the presumption of the great king of the country, President of the Supreme Council of Women, played a pivotal role in enhancing the position of Bahraini women and expanding their participation in various areas of life.

Since its foundation, the Council has adopted a strategic approach based on equality and equal opportunities, in an effort to empower women as an active partner in the march of national development, which was clearly reflected in the achievements achieved at the local and international levels.

The initiatives launched by the council embody this trend; It reflects a renewed thought and a conscious leadership vision pursued by His Highness Princess Sabika, at work for the progress of the country and women together.

Yesterday, I was honored to attend the press conference concerned with the launch of the fourth session of the Prize for the late Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa, may God bless her, for volunteer youth, as one of the pioneering initiatives that carry a deep human and national dimension.

This award comes to commemorate Her Highness Sheikha Hasa bint Salman Al Khalifa, may God have mercy on her, which was known for her generous giving and her unlimited support for her community, as she left a immortal impact on the fields of good and humanity.

What distinguishes the award, as Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, member of the Supreme Council for Women, Chairman of the Prize Committee during the conference, explained that she is directed towards the youth category, as it aims to motivate them to creativity and innovation in the fields of volunteer work, which reflects awareness of the importance of promoting a culture of volunteering as an essential component in building society, and developing the national sense and belonging to the next generation.

This initiative represents an investment in the energies of youth, and an encouragement to them to be active elements in developing society and transferring the values of cooperation and responsibility to future generations.

However, this trend is not limited to highlighting youth energies, but also contributes to building a coherent society based on the foundations of giving, initiative and shared responsibility.

We say here that praise be to God, as today’s generation, thanks to this vision, is more aware of the need to participate in the service of the country, and more able to transform voluntary ideas into tangible development projects.

The Supreme Council for Women always confirms through its continuous programs that empowering women is inseparable from supporting the broader societal fabric, including young people, by consolidating the values of volunteer work and enhancing the culture of belonging.

With this approach, the Council continues to perform its mission as a leading national institution that is inspired by the leadership of His Highness Princess Sabika, and continues to contribute to achieving Bahrain’s future aspirations.
