His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Development Council, stressed that the successes achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in terms of doubling investment opportunities and attracting more investments are an incentive to continue working in the spirit of one team in order to achieve more achievements that are in achieving the desired investment aspirations and consolidating the economic position of the Kingdom, in a way that contributes to supporting the goals of the comprehensive development march led by Hazrat His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country.

His Highness said that the success in attracting investment opportunities contributes to providing more qualitative opportunities for citizens, enhancing the growth of the national economy, and pushing development paths towards greater successes that contribute to increasing economic diversification and achieving the desired development goals.

This came when His Highness presided over the meeting of the Council of Economic Development at the Council’s headquarters in the Gulf of Bahrain, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the personal representative of His Majesty the King, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Acts and Youth Affairs, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and a number of senior officials and members of the Board of Directors of the Council.

During the meeting, the council’s achievements were reviewed during the last period, and the detailed data that were attracted from the most important global markets, in addition to discussing the most prominent global economic developments and ways to attract investments in priority sectors in a way that contributes to supplying economic development paths and enhancing economic diversification initiatives.

His Highness pointed out that the official visits that took place during the last period to brotherly and friendly countries, and the advertisements and signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding, would contribute to doubling the pace of investments in the Kingdom and pushing the development paths towards more advanced levels, stressing the importance of following up the outputs of these visits and achieving the maximum benefit from them in a way that enhances the economic and investment position of the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Nour Bint Ali Al -Khalif, Minister of Sustainable Development, CEO of the Economic Development Council, reviewed the direct investments that the Council succeeded in attracting during the first nine months of the year 2025, which amounted to about $ 1.52 billion.

These investments came through 75 local and international projects, which were distributed between 43% new projects and 57% expansion projects for the work of existing companies in the Kingdom.

The tourism sector has acquired the largest share of direct investments, followed by the financial services, industry, information and communications technology sector, as these investments are expected to contribute to creating more than 4,300 job opportunities during a three -year period.

The meeting also included a review of the emerging and modern sectors according to the market trends, which is expected to add with its capabilities more economic growth and enhance its sustainability, as well as discuss the latest developments on the golden license initiative, and review modern strategic projects that have shown their long -term impact, and is expected to contribute more to general economic activity.
