Hamas delegation meets the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee to discuss the delivery of its weapons in the camps

Sources told Al -Arabiya that the Hamas delegation will meet the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee to discuss the delivery of its weapons in the camps.

In a related context, the Lebanese government welcomed the army’s plan to implement the principle of exclusive possession of weapons, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri told the East Middle East newspaper that the toxic winds began to decline, while Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed the government’s commitment to continuing the process of disarming Hezbollah.

According to the information obtained by Al -Sharq Al -Awsat newspaper, the army’s plan consists of five stages: the first, which extends for three months, is in line with the deadline approved by the Council of Ministers during its sessions on August 5 and 7.

Delivery of weapons in Lebanon

This initial stage will focus on completing the disarmament of the area south of the Litani River, with weapons containing other places in Lebanon, specifically by prohibiting the carrying and transportation of weapons at the country level.

Berri said in his first comment on the cabinet decisions: The situation is positive … I think the toxic winds have begun to calm down, adding that the army’s plan helps in maintaining civil peace.

For his part, Salam assured the Middle East, that the decisions of the Council of Ministers are clear and do not leave an area for re -interpretation, pledging not to retract the principle of the state’s monopoly of weapons, and stressing that the government is determined to extend the authority of the state through its own resources, in line with the decisions of the August 5 session.
