Fayoum Drinking Water and Sewerage Company signed a cooperation protocol with 32 civil societies under the umbrella of the Social Solidarity Directorate in the governorate, with the aim of delivering free drinking water connections to the most needy families.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mohamed Abdel -Jalil Al -Najjar, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Sherine Fathi Mohamed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Fayoum, along with a number of the company’s leaders, including Mahmoud Abdel Hamid, head of the commercial sector, Sami Ghali, head of the water sector, and Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Director of the General Department of Security, and Nasser Al -Omda, Director General of Control and Follow -up.
Al -Najjar explained that the protocol aims to deliver water to the first families to care according to accurate criteria that ensure the service of its beneficiaries, in the context of the company’s efforts to improve the standard of living and reduce the burdens on the most needy groups.
He added that the implementation of this initiative comes as a translation of the directives of the political leadership supporting water and sanitation projects, aimed at providing a decent life for citizens, noting that the company continues to implement development projects and expansion of water and sanitation stations to serve all villages and centers of Fayoum Governorate.
He stressed that the protocol reflects the importance of the partnership between the government and civil society in supporting sustainable development, and highlights the company’s keenness to cooperate with civil societies to connect water services faster and more effective, which contributes to improving the quality of life and reduces the burdens on poor families.
During the signing ceremony, Lamia Nabil, Director of the Community Participation Department, reviewed what was accomplished in the framework of the protocol last year. The meeting also witnessed the opening of a dialogue session with the attendance to respond to the complaints and proposals submitted.
