The Ministry of Education has adopted the procedural guide for attendance and absence for the academic year 2025-2026, stressing that the school attendance represents a basic condition for academic success, ensuring the educational achievement of students, as the guide included a set of controls and procedures that aim to enhance discipline and commitment within the school campus, and to reduce the phenomenon of unjustified absence. According to the evidence, the alerting procedures and gradient warnings begin after only one absence, and develop to refer the student’s file and his guardian after 15 days of unjustified absence to the competent departments and external parties concerned with the protection of the child, which reflects the ministry’s seriousness in dealing with cases of absenteeism.
