Cairo University was and will remain a bridge for cultural dialogue and academic cooperation between Egypt and France

Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadiq, President of Cairo University, received at Ahmed Lotfi El -Sayed Hall, a delegation from the Committee of Culture, Education, Communication and Sports in the French Senate headed by Laurent Lavon, head of the committee, to discuss ways to enhance and activate joint cooperation between Cairo University and a number of French universities in the academic and research fields and exchange visits of faculty and students.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of Cairo University emphasized the depth of historical relations that bring Egypt and France in the scientific and research fields, and pointed out that the university has strengthened during the past months of its cooperation with French universities, when 6 memoranda of understanding with prestigious French universities arranged, signed on the sidelines of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo University last April, and these agreements included the fields of engineering, energy, smart cities and sustainability, Eastern archeology and civilization, as well as study programs with double certificates and joint research projects with the universities of Paris Surabon, New Sorbon, X Marseille, the National Institute for Applied Sciences in Lyon, and the National Institute for Eastern Languages ​​and Civilizations.

Abdel -Sadiq explained that the French partnerships with Cairo University are serious and effective, pointing to the university’s keenness on its cultural and academic diversity.

For his part, Laurent Lavon stressed the depth of cooperation relations between the Egyptian and French sides, which witnessed great success, especially in the rights program and the Economy and Political Science Program, looking forward to strengthening future cooperation between Cairo University and French universities in various fields, noting that the French Senate pays great attention to graduate studies programs.

The members of the French Senate delegation also stressed that this visit comes within the framework of consolidating relations between Egypt and France, and developing academic and cultural cooperation between the two countries, which contributes to supporting the efforts of Egyptian and French universities in the fields of scientific research and joint academic projects.

At the end of the meeting, the shields and souvenirs were exchanged and shared photos were taken.
