The political relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt are witnessing a historical firmness and depth that distinguishes it from many other Arab bilateral relations. They are not just traditional diplomatic ties, but rather a strong brotherly relationship extending through decades, which were formulated by major events and articulated situations, and were pursued by rational leaders in both countries.

Experiments have proven that this relationship represents a role model in Arab political coordination, where visions converge and positions are united in the face of various challenges that are ravaging in the region.

Political relations between Bahrain and Egypt were based on strong historical pillars, as mutual support in fateful issues was the basis for its continuous development. For decades and Egypt, for Bahrain, it represents the indispensable Arab strategic depth, while Bahrain has maintained a special position in Egypt as a reliable partner in supporting regional stability and enhancing Arab solidarity.

The two leaderships in Manama and Cairo describe the relationship as a sincere brotherhood, based on mutual appreciation and firm political confidence, and translates on the ground in joint coordination in various regional and international forums.

On the political level, Bahrain and Egypt are gathered on the need to protect Arab national security, and to confront any attempts to destabilize the region. The Egyptian positions supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain were greatly appreciated, especially with regard to the constant certainty of respecting the sovereignty of Bahrain and not interfering in its internal affairs.

On the other hand, Bahrain stood, leadership and people, along with Egypt in various articulated stations, especially during the events that followed the thirtieth of June 2013, where His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, was the first Gulf leader to visit Cairo at the time, in a position recorded by history as a message of fulfillment and support for the Egyptian people.

The development of Bahraini -Egyptian relations was not a coincidence, but rather a clear political will for the leadership of the two countries. His Majesty has repeatedly emphasized that Egypt represents the natural national extension of Bahrain, and a basic pillar of security and stability in the region.

On the other hand, President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi stressed that Bahrain will always remain in the heart of Egypt leadership and people, considering that the relationship between the two countries is of a special nature that goes beyond traditional diplomacy.

This convergence in visions was founded for a new stage of political relations, which were translated into mutual visits to the highest levels, and periodic meetings between the leaders of the two countries, the last of which was a series of meetings during the years 2022 and 2025 that confirmed the commitment of the two sides to continue building on the political and strategic cooperation achieved.

The Bahraini -Egyptian coordination is an essential element in dealing with sensitive regional files. The two countries have adopted common positions towards crises in the region, whether in Libya, Yemen or the Palestinian issue, always stressing the importance of peaceful solutions based on dialogue, and rejecting external interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries.

The two countries also bring together a clear position in combating terrorism and extremism, as Egypt has played a pivotal role in strengthening the Arab national security system, while Bahrain contributed on its part to supporting international and regional initiatives aimed at promoting stability and facing security challenges. Relations between Bahrain and Egypt recorded mutual positions with profound indications.

In June 2022, Manama received President Sisi on an official visit that witnessed the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding that strengthened the political and economic path.

In November of the same year, His Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, participated at the Climate Summit in Sharm El -Sheikh, stressing the depth of Bahraini -Egyptian coordination in international issues.

As for 2023 and 2025, the relations witnessed increasing momentum, as Bahrain received several high -level Egyptian delegations, as Ambassador Fawzia Zainal was appointed as an extraordinary ambassador to Egypt, in reference to Bahrain’s interest in consolidating diplomatic relations with Cairo.

The Bahraini Crown Prince also met with the new Egyptian ambassador in Manama Reham Abdel Hamid, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to expand the horizons of joint political cooperation.

One of the most prominent characteristics of political relations between Bahrain and Egypt is the commitment of the two parties to a solid diplomatic language based on mutual respect and keenness to enhance Arab solidarity.

Both countries have moderate external policies, and work together to face regional challenges with a spirit of wisdom and balance.

This approach made the relationship between them a stability factor in an Arab environment teeming with challenges. On the international level, Bahraini -Egyptian relations are characterized by permanent coordination within international and regional organizations, whether at the League of Arab States or the United Nations.

The two countries adopt close positions on issues of world peace, support dialogue between civilizations, and combat extremism and terrorism.

The two countries are also keen to exchange support for nominations for international positions, which reflects the spirit of close cooperation between them.

The economic and cultural aspects have contributed to strengthening the path of Bahraini -Egyptian relations. The trade exchange witnessed increasing growth, with Bahrain ranked 16th in the list of investors in the Egyptian market.

Cultural and media cooperation also contributed to building an emotional edifice linking the two brotherly peoples, through cultural events and joint media activities. However, these aspects remain in a framework for a political dimension that constitutes the most important pillar.

With the continued mutual meetings, Bahrain and Egypt affirms their commitment to continuing to develop political relations, in order to achieve the common goals of the two countries and the two peoples.

History testifies that the relationship between them has never retreated, but has increased strength and hardness over time. With the security, economic and political challenges facing the Arab world, the Bahraini -Egyptian alliance remains as a safety anchor for the region, and a model for successful Arab relations that are based on mutual trust and strong political will.

From the foregoing, it turns out that political relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt are not just a passing bilateral relationship, but rather a strategic partnership that is rooted in history, and aspires to the future with confidence and determination.

For the past decades, this relationship has been a unique model of Arab solidarity, and has contributed to strengthening the Arab national security system and supporting regional and international stability.

Given the strength of the foundations on which it is based, and the care and attention it receives from the leadership of the two countries, it can be said that the Bahraini -Egyptian relations are a candidate for more development and prosperity, to remain an example that the true Arab brotherhood is able to withstand all challenges.
