Assiut University students achieved a distinguished achievement at the end of the 42nd training course at the Francophone Activities Center at the Library of Alexandria, where they won four individual awards out of seven, and they won the first place in the collective project, with the participation of students from Port Said universities, Fayoum, Benha, and Sadat, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Al -Minshawi, President of Assiut University, and supervised by Dr. Marwa Al -Sahaan, Director of the Francophone Activities Center At Alexandria Library.

This comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol between the University of Assiut and the center, where the university participated during the summer season 2025 with 9 students from the French Language Department at the Faculty of Arts and the College of Education, with the aim of encouraging the practice of the French language and spreading the Francophone culture, and refining and rehabilitating new generations.
Dr. Ahmed Al -Minshawi stressed the importance of student activities, pointing to its role in refining the personality of students and discovering their scientific, cultural and artistic talents, and developing their linguistic and educational skills, explaining the university’s keenness to support students and urge them to participate in scientific and cultural forums to exchange experiences, acquire knowledge, qualify them for the labor market and raise their efficiency.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdel -Mawla, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, explained that the university supports all language centers and encourages students to participate in its activities, which contributes to refining their skills and linguistic capabilities and increases the demand for learning the French language.
Dr. Mahmoud Abdel -Alim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Foreign Language Centers, praised the distinguished French language center and its leading activities, stressing the importance of efforts to develop students’ skills and qualify them for the future.
In this context, Dr. Noha Rizk, Director of the French Language Center and head of the French Language Department at the Faculty of Arts, confirmed that the training provided to students is free and includes the grammar of the language, translation, and French culture at the hands of Egyptian and foreign professors, in addition to visits to the Library of Alexandria and its museums, and attending seminars with the most prominent symbols of thought, culture and Egyptian and Egyptian press.
She added that the students who won individual prizes are: George Sabry, Rose Kamil, Basmala Medhat, and Rosalin Paul, noting that these results came as a result of joint efforts and continuous cooperation between the university and the center.
The Francophone Activities Center is one of the most prominent centers concerned with spreading French language and culture in Egypt, where it regularly organizes training courses, lectures, workshops, and various cultural and scientific events aimed at refining students’ skills and qualifying new generations academic and culturally.
