The American University in Sharjah announced that Omar Saif Ghobash, advisor to the foreign minister in the UAE and the ambassador, is not resident to the Vatican, the title of a first colleague at the university, to be the second figure to be granted this title since he was introduced to the University Board of Trustees in 2023. This title is granted to prominent personalities that were distinguished by its general service, professional achievements and intellectual leadership, and contributed to enriching cultural and academic life in the emirate Sharjah and the UAE. Omar Ghobash is known as a prominent diplomat, writer and intellectual, as he represented the UAE in high diplomatic positions, including the country’s ambassador to Russia and France.
